David Burnett is one of my heroes, and getting to meet him in person two years ago was a great moment for me. His passion for stories is admirable, but it’s his passion for telling ongoing stories I find most remarkable. He doesn’t shoot assignments, he tells stories – and sometimes those stories take years to unfold.

Over on Time.com, he has an audio slideshow that looks at D-Day veterans. The portraits in there are amazing – simple, beautifully crafted visions of his heroes.
